I went out this morning and I noticed out of the 14 laying hens I have there was 3 HUGE Double Yolk eggs along with 6 lasrge brown eggs in the nesting box! I know it was my oldest Barred rock and a Australop but not sure on the 3rd egg! Today was a great day!

We have had chickens since April and have had 2 double yolk eggs, both from one of our EE's. Go Stella! [IMG]

All of our big eggs are double-yolkers. Since the girls started laying in late October, I think we've had about four.

Do only certain breeds produce double yokes? My one hen lays eggs the size of duck eggs but never a double yolk.
