How many eggs could a Black Astrolorp be expected to lay in her life time. I know the number goes down over the years. Any info from my BYC friends is appreciated. Thanks!!

That link worked for me. IMHO, it underestimated to some extent. It estimated 300 the first year (over estimated that one!! They don't lay until at least 4 months), then 200 then 120 every remaining year after that, for a total of about 800 eggs by the age of 5. Most people here report very little decline in egg laying ability, so I would guess that the answer would be more than 1000, especially if you let her die of old age, not chicken soup-itis.
