    Hello -

Two questions that are puzzling me. Perhaps you can help -

Can a hen produce more than one egg per day?

Once she's inseminated, for how long will she continue to lay fertilised eggs?

    Much obliged! [IMG]

as far as your second question, i believe all egss will be fertile if shes got a rooster mating with her. hope this helps. [IMG]

    Thanks for the reply. [IMG]

Just to clarify: What I meant was that without subsequent matings, for how long would the eggs be fertile, (or is it a case of one mating results in one fertilised egg?)

    Anyone know the answer?

Does the hen have to be inseminated each time she lays an egg, or can she lay several fertilised eggs from one insemination?[IMG]

I've heard she can 'hold' the sperm for 2-3 weeks. Laying fertilised eggs the whole time.
