I don't toss kitchen or table scraps into pen. That will attract various predators. Only seeds and scratch grains.

We don't either, any veggies or healthy scrap food goes into 3 trays separated in the run to keep the bullies from hogging it all. I have given them trout skins when we smoke the fillets and that is pure gold to them. If I don't chop it up, one will grab the whole skin and race around the yard with the others in hot pursuit

1 yesterday. I left before sunup, temp < 0°F. Only person home all day was DD1. She doesn't drag out until 11 or 12 and the egg she found was frozen and cracked. She checked throughout the day but no more eggs. Going out now to see if there are any "donations" before I leave at 10.

I have young hens doing the "squat" for me, I hope that means they want to lay eggs soon!

Cloudy 44 degrees windy today as well. Got a surprise this morning as I found one mint green and one blue egg. so, now the pullets are making a come back...lol!! 29-3 Old girls still up. We still have some day left so who kn
