How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Why don’t you let ducks set on them? Won’t they? I have Muscovies that didn’t want me to take their eggs. As soon as it warms up I’m going to let them hatch some..then take them in to the brooder. :)

got 2 more duck eggs and 3 more chicken eggs..makes 20 today!
None of the Runner ducks are broody right now, and I'm not sure if I'd let them sit on eggs, even if they were. I do have a couple of Muscovy, too, but they're not broody, either. 🤷‍♀️ Plus, incubator-hatched ducklings are more habituated to people and are easier to handle...and I'm not having to "steal" them from their mamas when it's time to rehome them.

Sounds like frittata time at your house with all those eggs! 😊

! Huge egg from RIR

10 today. One of the silly girls laid hers right in the barn alley despite having plenty of nest boxes WHICH SHE HAS USED every time in the past. It was 11°F, the egg froze and cracked.
I've been checking their out of the coop laying spots a few times a day so I can get the eggs before they freeze. It doesn't take long to freeze a bantam egg, the others have a bit more volume.
