How many feather legged breeds are there?

    I know of Bramhas, & now I see that the Sussex's have feathered legs...I thought I had a Bramha, & now that I see that a light susses has feathered legs, I'm havin' second guesses...I see that Bramhas have HEAVEY feathered legs & my bird doesn't...am thinkin' I have a Light Sussex now...

    feather leggs on a sussex is a dq and if there hatchery bird u never know what feahers on there legs well look like

    some varieties of marans have featherd leggs, so do sultans and cochins, Langshans, D'uccles, faverollels, and silkies.

    That is all that I can name off of the top of my head. And, if i'm not mistaken, you have a hatchery stock light brahma

    marans should not either but people are more in to there egg color if or when they become apa they well not be alowed to have feather legs

    I have Brahmas and luv'em!

    Is it possible that your chicken is a mix? I see he/she has feathers on the outside of the legs, but ours are much more "feathered". Brahmas also have pea combs, which are really tiny and do not "stick up" like the one in the photo.

    French black copper marans are not recognized by the apa, but black copper marans are and they don't have feathered feet nor do the cuckoo. hence my point some marans have feathered feet
