I was quite suprized when my overweight hair sheep turned out to be preggo and not overweight. Turns out we should have taken our shetland ram lamb out of the herd a little earlier then we did. oops. This is our first time lambing so I am SUPER nervous. Here is a pic of our painted desert sheep Flower, any guesses on how many she may have? I know that there is really no telling by how they look but I figure it would be fun to see how many people get it right.

Also, does anyone have any advice for me? I have some emergency supplies on hand and my vet on speed dial should anything go wrong.

What's normal for sheep? I guess since MY Flower (goat) just had trips, I'll guess that!

We separated the ram out on October 17th (he was only 5mth old) so she got knocked up sometime before then. She should be due any day now.

Yep - any day now then. I love the internet! I know nothing about sheep and yet there is a plethera of gestation tables out there for any animal!

Good Luck! YOu will have to post pictures. She is very pretty herself. I really like the darker colored sheep.

I'm guessing two... but small ones. Swing by Rural King or TSC and see if you can get some lamb milk replacer to have on hand. ALSO... they have some nipples that fit on 20 oz pop bottles. They are yellow at the bottom with red pointy nipples. Those seem to work the best for us. We have had Jacob and Jacob mix sheep since 2002. Lots of fun! We didn't have any babies last year - kind of gave the girls a rest. We're looking forward to having some this year although our Jacob ram is pretty small and young for the job. BUT... after your tale, maybe he will "catch" the girls!

I seperate my goat bucks from the does by 2 months of age!! LOL. They are precocious buggers! Looks like twins to me. My ewes would get huge.
