How many standard eggs can a Seabrite hatch?

My sister has 4 Seabrites one of which are broody. She got 4 fertile eggs for her to hatch, is this too many?

Also can the broody be moved since she is in a run with 3 other Seabrites? If so, what is the best way to do it?

It would be whatever the hen can comfortably cover. Seabrights are really small so it would be like sticking goose eggs under a standard hen.

Thanks BooBear. My sister has her on four eggs. Two are larger eggs and two small ones. I thought three would be better but she has already got her setting. I am worried if they are too many non of them will hatch.

If she looks like she can comfortably cover them then they should be ok. Probably would not want to add anymore as that would be pushing her limits.

    Thanks.

It would be wonderful for the little Seabrite hen to have chicks! She goes broody a lot and just sits in the nest. Unfortunately my sister does not have a Sebrite rooster hence the standard chicken eggs.

    That's for sure!

We would love to get her a roo but they are hard to find - she lives in South Africa.

If all goes well hatch date should be 28 Dec - keep your fingers crossed all goes well.
