how much for black copper maran hen?

I hatched some black copper hens and roosters. A lady at my work wanted to buy a hen and a rooster and I wanted to know what to charge her. These are from a very good breeder and I have the TP cert on them. They are from the french line with feathers on the feet and very dark eggs.

Please if anyone can help that would be a great thing!

Depends if your in it for the money or the breed.

you can be into the marans for both the money and the breed. I would not let the pair go for under $50.00! I have yet bought a roo under 20 and to find a black copper hen is very tough.

I would gauge your price on several things.
1, how old are they?
2. whos line are they from
3. How dark were the eggs they came from, or if adults, how dark are the eggs they are laying?

I am selling 6 week old sexed chicks for $40 each. They come from a well known line and dark eggs.

I wouldn't sell an adult BC hen that is laying dark eggs , and comes from a good breeder, for less than $75, but that's a lot of ifs....

Week old- month old (good faith) $40-50
Then after a year they'll be gratefull to you!

To answer your question it would depend on the age of the birds.

I have heard of $50 per Pullet/hen roughly 5months of good lines, from dark eggs, french standards etc...
