We received our first light bill since we had to start running the AC. The husband and I had different thoughts about the amount of the bill, with one of us believing the bill was reasonable for the size house we have and one thinking it was totally ridiculous. So, that got me thinking... what does your light bill normally cost in the summer? Our bill for mid-April to mid-May is $109. In the heat of the summer, it is about $20 more.

I don't have AC in my car and he doesn't have it in his truck, so the AC in the house feels fantastic! We keep it set around 76-78 unless it gets really stuffy.

With all the incubators running (cabinet, 3 tabletops) and 3 brooder boxes.... just over $100. We live in the country, and have a fairsized house.

I voted over $100, but without all the incubators and brooders, it's usually just under $100....

In the summer it usually runs under $100 because we dont have to use heat. We cook outdoors alot.. BBQs, yummy.. And we dont have an AC.. Although some times I wish we do... But on the hottest days we run to large box fans..

During winter it's 70-80 but we just got our first summer bill, 194! Yep, mom turned OFF the ac and put boxfans in the window and said welcome to the country. [IMG] I polled 100-200 [IMG]

I think your bill is reasonable for running air, greenfamilyfarms. Our bill without incubators and such is usually about 80-90, and we dont have air....

Ours usually runs under a $100, but the water heater and stove/oven are both gas.
