How much should a baby chick sleep?

    It's official - we're chicken parents! We adopted (2) 1 day old Silver Lace Wyandottes, and (2) 2 day old Golden Lace Wyandottes, and they are so friendly and just down right adorable!

    I have them in a large plastic storage container set on a card table so I can sit there and watch them. Its so much more entertaining than cable TV:D

    One will grab a pine shaving and run while the others chase it around the brooder. Its hilarious!

    They don't sleep much though. Is it normal for them to sleep a minute or two at a time? One will lay down to nap and soon it'll get ran over by another chick, or it'll hear the others and wake up to see what's going on.

    Yep!! Very typical!! Sometimes they will lay down and look like they are dead!!
