I am now on day 19 with 18 good eggs inside, including some purebred wheaton/BW ameraucanas. Since this is a homemade incubator, there are no predrilled holes for ventilation and it is made of glass, so all ventilation needs to come from the top. I started lockdown yesterday and closed off the vents to keep the humidity up = was this a mistake? How much ventilation do the eggs need before the chicks hatch?
