How often are chickens meant to molt?

Mine are almost three years old, and only one of my hens has just started going into her first molt. I thought they were meant to molt every summer!

I'm not sure. I've only had my chickens for about a year. I had one molt, but her molt was due to stress during one of the winter snows we had here. She had food and water, but this little turd was terrified of the white stuff. I think they are supposed to molt during the fall/winter months when they are about 18 months old. I'm not sure how often after that. I'll wait for an answer with you.

Hmm, yes, I would've thought mine would be dying to molt, because of the intense heat, but haven't seen a sign of feather shedding yet from any of the four
