How often do hyline brown hens go broody ?

Depends on the broody. You should get an incubator just in case she give up, or isn't a good mother. Nice work separating her.
we are based in south Africa and new on chicken farming would like to get any information available to assist us grow

I am happy to be corrected, but I believe Hylines are a hybrid breed. Bred for laying, not for mothering.

I am pretty confident they rarely go broody.

They are a great layer but not known for a long lifespan. I guess they get worn out pumping close to 350 eggs a year!

You're essentially correct. Only, as it is a hybrid, thus, it is not a breed at all.
