I used paper towels over pine shavings for the first three days. Today is the first day without them. I am wondering how often I need to empty out the litter and put new in the brooder. Is it enough to just stir it up, add a little new, and then change it once a week? This is assuming, of course, that the litter isn't getting wet from the water. Thanks.

Clean it when ever you think it needs cleaning or it starts to smell. A little dirty isn't bad for them, and dirt from their future coop is a good thing. They have to build up strong immunities.

Thanks silkiechicken and SOrcy!
