We have 3 hens that we bough on our local market, and since we are new to this, we would like to know how old are they..
    Is there any tips?

    Thanks for the help.

    Two Roos?!???!

damn, my neighbors are so going to kill us...
In Portugal you can't buy chickens in stores or via Internet, you have to buy them in the local grocers market...and the guy told me that they were all hens... darn, o well let's just see how it goes.

    Thanks for the help [IMG]

    1st: 5 weeks
    2nd: 4 weeks
    3rd: 4weeks
some breeds do look older then others even if they are at the same age [IMG]

We also noticed that the second one is always trying to keep the brooder "organized" so this could be another clue, right?? [IMG]

Just one last question, to taken outside the brooder to the coop, should I wait for another 4 weeks?
The weather here in Portugal now averages the 15ºC night and 30ªC day...

    Thanks once again

depends on the natural size of the breed, the first one has much more complete/even feathering than the other 2 ( i know no.3 is a transylvanian naked neck but still) [IMG]

during the day is the perfect temperature to put them outside!
at night it might be a bit too chilly so i'd either move the lamp or move the chicks back inside [IMG]

Overall, they all are feathering I can see them in the morning stretching the wings and when we hold them we can see. we will try to take better photos tonight. There's no feathers in the belly tough [IMG]
