How old is your oldest chicken?

I am interested to know how old a chicken can live for.

My oldest one is only 5 years old and still looks good.

How old is you oldest chicken?

I have a cockerel whos 9 in May:

A ex batt called Babs who is 7 in May:

And a ex batt Ginger who is 7 in May:

The rest are all 3 years and younger

Wow. They all look really healthy and I would never guess they are that old. Do the hens still lay eggs for you?

They lay about one a week in good weather

at least 6 years old. I got her at a swap 5 years ago, and she looked kinda old then too.

Wow she is lovely. She has beautiful colours and I love her tail!

when we bought her 5 years ago it was evident she wasnt the healthiest. her tail was all bloody and half her feathers were missing. she was as skinny as can be. It was a pity buy, and she looks good now though!
