How old is your oldest chicken? We have five 18 week old pullets and I was just wondering how old they can get. Without putting any predators/illnesses into the equation how long will they be with us?

right now, probably about 5-6. But i've had roosters near 15-16 before and the only reason he died was because he choked on corn:(.

My oldest to my knowledge is 4 and I've had her since she was six month's old. Her son is 3 1/2 (and nothing phases him, I think he's invincible too...) he never gets sick, never has been, can eat everything that makes everyone on the brink of death and he has an iron stomach. His brother is also the same age. They're all my banty show birds.

I just got a big game rooster that looks around 4 years old. Hopefully they will all be around a long time.
