How old until my Black Sex Link Hens and Americauna Hen start laying eggs?

Hello, I have 4 Black Sex Link hens and 1 Americauna hen. I am starting to get worried because they aren't laying eggs yet. They are about 19 weeks old. Thank you for your time.

i would say about 5 to 6 months but again with the change in daylight hours it could be longer.

yes. maturity can very throughout breeds. the sex links should be the first to lay they mature a little faster you should be getting your first egg any day now. do you notice that their combs are getting brighter red? and are they beginning to squat when youre next to them?

Okay, any day now? Okay. Their combs do seem very red. They all have red features on their faces.

I would also check thier pelvis bones.
Take the chicken in your hand and feel its rear end.
If you feel three prominent bones close together then do not expect eggs for a few weeks. If the bones have separated, then expect eggs soon.

I have two Red Sex Links. One pullet began laying around 17-18 weeks and her sister didn't start until she was around 23-24 weeks. It just varies. Also, both girls began squatting for me about 2 weeks before they began laying. =)
