how soon after mating will egg be fertile???

I never thought of this before?? duh.. I know that the hen can stay fertile for up to 3 weeks or longer after mating but when would she be officially fertile after mating? 1 day a week???

break a few eggs and watch for the bullseye... once ONE is fertile all the others for a few weeks will be as well.
