In spite of changing my almost week old chicks' poopy drop cloth twice a day, I notice that they are getting little balls of poop stuck to their feet. What is the best way to get this off? Their skin is so fragile, I want to be as gentle as possible.

Or should I just leave it be?

You can get a cup of warm water and dip thier feet in and hold them that way for a minute or so and it will soften up any dried on poop then just use a baby wipe or paper towel and wipe the rest off.

My one chick stepped in yogurt, which then glued the pine shavings on. Poor kid, I just rinsed the feet with warm water, dried with kleenex and held her under the heat light for a minute. Good as new!

I have tried soaking my chicken's feet in dish soap and again in vinigar and the hard ball clumps still wont come off her feet. i did this probably 10 minutes each. She is miserable. What can i do???
