I check my eggs everyday if not every other day. Sometimes, I'll go in there and get the eggs and there's a wet spot under them and some pieces of shell. Don't know if it's a cannibal hen, or they're just breaking them, then eating the shells...either way, with production down, every egg counts.

Anyhow, I was wondering if it's possible to make it to when they lay the egg, it would drop out of sight, safely, for gathering? I just don't see it in my head how I can do this and still leave them somewhere to comfortably lay.

Any ideas and or pics would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've got some oyster shell that I give with their scratch. Think I'm just going to set it out with their feed. I use the Layena from Purina.

What did you search because it didn't come up? Just said the search returned zero results.

Thanks for your help.
