How To Give A Shot Into The Thigh Muscle

I have been trying to give antibiotics to my chickens for bumblefoot this week & have had a heck of a time trying to locate the thigh muscle area-sounds crazy I know but I believe I have been injecting into the drum/leg area just above the hock area. I am injecting the needle on the outside of the leg and find it difficult. i can not seem to get any advise on what to do other than what I alredy am-no pictures to look at and no vets around my area to tell me or show me.

any one's help would be appreciate i have to do this again tonight

Actually, the state vet told me not to do that. If you hit a nerve, you can damage her ability to walk. Give it in the meaty part of the breast muscle instead, avoiding the keel bone.
