Ok, I gave up on the ivomec and have given up on the Eprinex for now. The locals look at me like I'm from Mars when I asked for it yesterday. So I picked up a bottle of Wazine which is the only thing I could find around here. I will order some Eprinex to keep on hand. But my birds need wormed now so I have to go with what I can get quick. So, if I understand the directions correctly, I take away their water in the evening then use the Wazwater as their only source of water the next day at a rate of 1oz per 1gallon water. Then go back to plain water the next day. Throw away their eggs for 2 weeks and do this treatment once a month every month. Right? So for 2 weeks of every month I toss all the eggs. [IMG] I hope that somewhere I got it wrong cuz this just doesn't sound right.

    HELP!!!!!!!!

And what about a regular worming routine using different products like, Wazine in March and Eprinex in October? Good idea, bad idea? What do y'all do?

Wish I could help. I just use DE. How can you tell if they have worms? Do they show up in the pooh like they would for cats or dogs? Just wondering.

Hi Becky, I've got some Wazine..yours say Wazine 17 ?
Those directions are very confusing. Where is says "chickens" 1 fluid oz. a gal. is for chics 4 to 6 weeks for 1 day.
Then it says Over 6 weeks use 2 fluid ozs. for one day.
Since it's so hot, I would maybe just leave the water out the night before.
I haven't used Wazine in a long time. I just worm in spring/fall, I use the Eprinex.I do use DE in their feed lots of it, but they still get worms sometimes. [IMG]
I get my Eprinex at Jeffers http://www.jefferslivestock.com/ssc/product.asp?CID=2&pf_id=17185

I have used DE in their feed for several years now and this is the first time I have found worms. Roundworms are what I saw. I will get Eprinex and use it in the future, but it will take a couple of weeks at best to get it, so I went ahead and bought the Wazine locally so I could deal with this quickly.

Yes, it is Wazine 17. The directions say to use 1oz per 1 gal water for 1 day for chicks under I think it's 7 weeks. But then it turns around and says to use 2oz in 2 gal water for 1 day for adults. It still sounds to me like I should put 1oz/3 tablespoons of Wazine in a 1 gallon jug and put enough in waterers for 1 day. Right???

You're right.. guess I need glasses, lol.
I think it stays so humid around here that the DE isn't effective.
My flock gets those roundworms too.
