Two different people at Ideal pronounced Leghorn "Leg-ern" is this a crazy southern accent or is that really how it is pronounced? I always just figured it was Leg-horn.

Legern is the correct pronunciation but Warner brothers has made it sound funny to most because there use to hearing them miss pronounce Foghorn Leghorns name.

  8. Quote:It makes more sense when you know that the breed originated near an area called Ligurno in Italy. The spelling "Leghorn" comes to us via the English. [IMG]
