How to rid baby chicks of mites?

Hello,

I rescued two silkie x silver sebrights and unfortunately I noticed tonight as we were getting them settled in that they are infested with mites. I need to know what is best to treat them and rid them of them. Natural or chemical, so long as it works and we can get it taken care of before they are ready to join the rest of our flock.

Try setting up a dust bathing site in a large wash tub site. Make so soil is dry with a range of particulate sizes which means it will have powder, silt and sand. Birds will preferentially use it when they are also exposed to mid day sun. It will take a few days of use before mite numbers get down to where they are hard to detect.
