I have a box'o'chicks that were sold to me as all females, at a day or two old. The farmer was standing out in the rain trying to sex these little things, and then stuffing them into my hands, so it is entirely possible there was a mistake. Or he could have been full of something, who knows? My problem is, one of these chicks is different form the others. The are supposed to be coochins. It was the first one to fly, it has no feathers on its feet, and it has a somewhat larger comb, which is starting to turn red. I wonder if this is another breed, just a little older, or possibly a rooster in disguise. How can I tell?
