I dont want to vent sex them if i dont have to.... was hoping for an easier way. (I wondered if they were like ducks/guineas and their voices are different.)

I'd say they are about 7 or 8 months right now.

The females voice is lower and there are differences in body language but if you have the same sex birds it would be hard to tell.
Not sure if your geese are 2008 or 2009?
If they are 2008 birds, if you have any females they should of laid this spring.
If you need to know for sure have a vet vent sex them.

Thanks everyone! I was looking at them yesterday, and i can see some extra fat or feathers or something hanging down between one of their legs. Does that have anything to do with determining male from female. I'm guessing they were born in 2008.

Idea: try posing this question in a new thread with Toulouse in the title.
Like "Toulose breeders, need advice" or something like that.
If they are 2008 birds they should of laid eggs this spring
    if you have a female.

Quote:No that extra hanging down is known as a lobe and tells you nothing about the sex. It can tell you something about breed though since pomeranians are supposed to have a single lobe while most other breeds have double lobes. To head off questions each bird developes lobes according to their individual condition since these are basically fat storage areas. Birds with lobes are generally getting more to eat than ones with smaller lobes or ones without lobes. BTW any mating activity this spring? if so the one on top may have been male, if both the same sex it of course means nothing.

Well I got them in may, and the lady told me they were only 6 months old, so that would mean they would lay next spring right?
I haven't seen them mate at all. But one is more aggressive than the other (hisses more & talks more). I'm HOPING i have a male and female.
