We have fertile eggs under our hen as of yesterday and we checked her today and there was a big poop clump in the nest box off to one side touching one of the 10 eggs. She is so dedicated and we had to offer her food and water right to her face! How can we teach her to poop somewhere else? She has a fenced area to herself within the coop with her own food and water. Should we take her outside instead once a day?

I have a hen poop right on top of all her eggs last year. I had to wash them all. Smelly, isn't it.

I think they do learn to get off and poop elsewhere pretty soon

My wife goes out twice a day and picks the broody up tosses her up in the air 5-6 feet and catches her, do this two or three times. Then set her on the edge of the trash can to do her business. The broody gets to flapping really hard while she's in the air almost as soon as she perchs on the trash can she goes. It's almost like walking a dog. When she's done put her back on the nest and she's only been off for a few minutes with no moe messy eggs.

Disclaimer: I've only seen this method done with silkies. Use at your own risk.

I took my broody outside once or twice a day to poop and eat grass. That way she didn't poop in the nest, because she would not get up unless I took her out.
