how to tell gender, what age?

How old do chicks need to be before you can tell their gender for sure? I the chicks are about 9-10 weeks old, how accurate can I be judging their gender? I want to move the roosters along as soon as possible.

It really depends on what breed you have. Some like sex linked can be sexed at hatch, others like silkies can take months, and i mean like 6-9 months. Why don't you post pictures, or tell us what you have, that might help.

I listed 6 or more breeds on the gender forum and I've gotten really good answers, which I am very grateful for. (you can probably see them under my user name, I guess, I haven't tried to figure out if I can search by user or not). I was just wondering if I can start finding home for the roos, or if I still need to wait to make sure.
