Is it possible to tell of an embryo is dead very early in the incubation, I.e. In the first five days?
I
have a serama sitting on some shipped eggs. Two look on track at day five (although one has a saddle air cell - different problem). The other two have signs of development for day three maybe: a tiny red circle with some darkish threads and blobs in it, just barely visible with a good candler.
Are they definitely dead or could they just be behind in development for some reason? Is there a way to tell if such a small embryo is dead or alive, or do I just have to wait a couple more days and candle again?
I've seen eggs with bloodrings where embryos have died around day seven, but have never seen eggs die this early before.
