how to tell if hen is broody on fertile eggs

    hey there im still a newbe on chickens i have a Black Australorp hen and rooster. i put them together and they mated, now i was woundering if the next eggs that see lays will be fertile and will she become broody by instint

    The eggs are likely to be fertile within a few days if not right away. Here is how to tell, other than incubating them:

    I have 3 Black Australorp hens over 2 years old. One has gone broody 2 or 3 times, the others never. It's the luck of the draw whether yours ever does.
