I'm just getting started with chickens, having just ordered my first chicks online last week. We recently moved out of a small town and into the country, on 17.5 acres, where we're starting our homestead. They should be arriving in a couple weeks, so I've got a lot to learn in a short time. I've already been perusing the site, and already have more ideas than I will ever have time to implement. I'm looking forward to learning more from all of you!

Welcome to BYC!!! I'm not familiar with Benton, what part of KY is it in? What breed(s) did you order? Have you built your coop and run yet?

Western Kentucky, just west of Kentucky Lake. Rhode Island Reds. Still working on the design, going with A-frame chicken tractors.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Have you perused the Learning Center yet, it will probably answer most of your questions. If it doesn't we can steer you elsewhere .
