I just wanted to drop in and intro myself. I've kept a small flock of chickens for years, mostly for eggs, but as I get older I'm starting to enjoy them more as pets than anything. I've had several breeds over the years in the quest for a favorite. However I was recently introduced to the Orpington, and Ive gotta say that they fit the bill. I started with 3, but I'm hoping to get a few more soon.

Anyway I finally decided to join here after reading some really great posts by the very knowledgable members on the forum. Hope to hear from you guys soon!

Greetings from Texas! Our neighbor has a handsome buff Orpington rooster who is the daddy of our beautiful almost 20-week-old peep (mommy is an Easter Egger), that we're now pretty sure is a she.
