I'm so glad to be part of this community. I had a rooster and 2 hens as a kid. As an adult, my brood has been 4 sons and a wonderful husband, but I'm a mountain woman trapped in an urban cow pasture with an hoa that won't allow chickens. My husband and I are nearing retirement and want to move to Colorado. I look forward to learning about high altitude chicken tending and the best breeds for that environment.
Welcome to BYC. You could post NOW, on the Colorado state thread. They would be happy to answer your questions. Just put "Colorado thread," in the search box above. It will pop up for you. My brother has to put up with HOA also and has to jump through jumps to do anything.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
