Haven't had chickens since I was in high school but decided I wanted to show my grandkids where eggs cone from and how to be responsible for animals as well as grow their own eggs. Been gardening with them for years do chickens and goats are in the plans for 2015. Started building coop this week! Looking forward to a great experience. Just need to brush up on this since it had been over 35 years since I had chickens. Once I ge coop built then gonna build a run in case predators take aim at my flock.

    Happy holidays ya'll.

    Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm sure once your up and running keeping chickens will feel like putting on a comfy pair of slippers!! Lovely to hear your getting your grandchildren involved in your chicken journey. I think it's great to get kids to learn about nature and how to care for animals. Also gets them out in the fresh air which seems to be a real bonus nowadays.

Wishing you the very best of luck and hope you enjoy BYC :frow
