We are new to raising chickens and found BYC while researching predators. The site has soooo much information, its great for us noobs! We had 8, but now are down to one hen and one rooster after a predator attack. Hopefully we'll figure out what it was, proof for it, and get some more hens in the spring.

Welcome to BYC (although I wish the circumstances were happier)

What a terrible loss, I'm so sorry you've lost so many. Have you checked out the articles about predators in the Learning Center?

There's also a forum where you can ask questions about predators and get feedback on your set up that might protect you from future losses:

Good luck to you, I hope things go better from here on out!

Sorry for your loss, were your birds taken when free ranging, or did critters get into coop or run? If you have a game cam you can see what is doing the damage and how it gets in.

Sometimes just a motion detector with bright light can scare them off. If the coop is close enough to your home you could use a baby monitor, so you'd hear any commotion.

It just dawned on me what your member name is. That's hilarious @ColSanders !
