Hurt rooster

    I have the sweetest rooster. I guess he was protecting his ladies today. I thought it was a hawk that got one, but would he fight a hawk and have his tail feathers ripped out in a pile not far from where I found him half dead? 1 dead, 1 missing, and sweet Drew in bad shape. I didn't see signs off anything except 1 hawk feather near by. Trying to figure out what I need to watch for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kate

    That's what I thought. I guess I will leave them up for a while. Will a hawk go after a peacock? He doesn't go in the coop at night so he will be out by himself.

    Chicken Hawks go after any small animals that they can grab.
