Hi everybody!
I just realized that chickens are like tattoos.... you can’t stop at one!
I got a 4-5 yr old Silkie in Dec as my friends were moving and I volunteered to take her. “Chicken” was my first... then I decided she needed some friends, so I ordered 2 EEs. They were about 3-5 days old and I kept them in my bedroom in a brooder....then I went to the pet store to get some doc food, and guess what? I walked out with a Buff Orpington, RIR, and an Black Australorp. I was told they were approx. 3 days old. So now there were 5 lil’ chickies in the box, which I had to expand about 3 weeks later.
Last weekend I put them in the coop and I miss waking up to their sweet lol’ chirping.
They are still hanging out on the floor of the run, but hopefully Chicken will teach them to go into the coop, which I need to build a bigger one now. My Orpington, Penny, will come to me and I’ve put her in the coop a few times. She’s stayed there once overnight.
I’ve been working from home so I already miss them thinking about returning to work.
