I am worried about my chickens getting too cold they have several roosts and a coop they dont seem to like to go in the coop

What do the chickens do when it starts to get dark?

Glad to have you join!

Are you somewhere where the temps get very cold? I am in the south-eastern United States and we have fairly mild temps here as a usual rule but this winter seems to be starting off badly!

I am having to rethink my coop situations for the younger birds.

You're in the right place to ask questions.

Are your chickens let out into your yard, or into an enclosed run during the day?

One thing some people do to train their chickens to sleep in the coop is to lock them in there for a few days... Of course, make sure they have food and water. They will be forced to sleep on the roosts, and after a while, they will get used to it and will go there naturally.
