Thanks to my boyfriend and his family I am able to get a rooster! He is GORGEOUS! He's a Lemon Cukoo Orpington!! I'm going to buy a lavender orpington and put them as a pair. VERY interested in that combo. Would the chicks be concidered MIXED? Or pure? I'm new with breeding. Wouldn't it m ake the chicks 2/3 orpington and 1/3 maran? Pix when I get him. He's GORGEOUS! What would I feed them? Is it ok for a roo to eat layer feed? Or do they have to get two different feeds? What about oister shells? Sorry, I've never had a roo before :/..

Yes, the roo can eat the layer pellets. I think have no idea what they are going to look like. Have fun, and post pics.

Really bumbed, I can't take him now as a friend came to me for help with her roo. So I'm taking him and just don't have room for 2..
