I blame my grandfather for teaching me about chickens and raising them when I was younger. These past few years have been a reintroduction for me into the world of chickens. It started with some hand-me-down hens and a rooster. The rooster is a bantam and some of the hens are of unknown breed. I got a four Rhode Island reds after that.... Then I bought some Australorp chicks. A nice Little flock!

Two months ago someone gave me some Silkies (Cotton, the rooster and Lily, the hen ) I have some eggs that I'm incubating so I will try to follow up with that.

So that my Hello!

Hi there,

and welcome to BYC!

Very pretty flock! The same thing happened to me when I was growing up. My grandparents and parents kept livestock. Chickens included. However I didn't start keeping them until only a few years ago, many many many moons since my childhood. LOL

Great to have you aboard and enjoy BYC!
