Not sure what came over me, but saw this mare on Craigslist and... well... ahem... I tried really hard NOT to buy her, but then I caved. She is nine, Andalusian/Arab with no papers, green broke six years ago then let sit. Her feet are long, and she weaves some, but I am in LOVE with her!!!

She's a good looking mare despite all the mud.

What are you going to do with a mare that hasn't been messed with for 6 years?

start her all over again, and breed her to a pony, for my personal use. Not looking to make $ of the baby.

Well, it will be nice if you can get her retrained to be a useful horse. I hate to see horses that are just pasture ornaments (unless they are old and retired of course). I see ads all the time for people who have horses that haven't been messed with in years...it is very hard to find homes for them if the owners have to sell them and a lot of them end up in auctions. Good luck with her...she is pretty!

She is very pretty, good luck with the work - I'm sure with patience she will turn out well and sounds like she has a good home now! [IMG]

I don't expect her to be any sort of problem. She was bought as a dressage prospect and did not grow big enough. She handles really nicely on the ground, doesn't mind weight put over her back. Her feet are long, need to get them done first, then get going with starting her again. I am really looking forward to it.
