Stopped by rural king to shop with the family and of course I had to stop by the chicks just to look. 😏 I am now bringing home 6 welsummer chicks... oops! They are straight run (I think... they weren't labeled) I need to know about how old they are?? I also would like to know what colors they might be when they are older? What age can I tell their gender? Any info on welsummers helps. These are actually my first welsummers so I'm excited! Feel free to post pictures of your welsummer eggs as well!

Welsummers can be sexed quite soon at around 5 weeks or when they grow their chest feathers in. Salmon colored chest is a female and black chest is a male. The chicks look quite young. I would guess 2-3 weeks…? The picture is a female welsummer.

Probably 1-2 weeks old actually. The hens look quite pretty when they are grown.
