I just processed my first duck. It wasn't that bad except when it came to plucking. I boogered it somehow so I ended up just skinning it. None the less I did it. [IMG]

[IMG] Yay for you! Have you processed other kinds of birds before, or is this duck your first first ever? I've only processed chickens so I don't have any advice on duck plucking for you. Enjoy your meal, is it a Muscovy? I've heard that they're supposed to be really tasty!

I'm new to all this. I've only done quail. And yes it is a Muscovy. Next time it should go a little smoother [IMG]

Skinning a duck is MUCH easier than trying to plunk. If you try to scald the feathers, they are waterproof and don't get wet. All those soft downy feathers are a nightmare to try to pluck.
    Great job!
