and wow i never knew some hatcheries are so cruel

do all hatcheries grind up the male chicks or is it just certain hatcheries?
do you think that this is just a especially cruel hatchery or is this how most are?
maybe i will buy chicks from the local farm now

I know of some hatcheries that gas the unwanted chicks

but grinding them up?!?!?! that is just disgusting!

That is how most hatcheries are, yes. In protest, you could order some roosters with your hens. When everyone wants only pullet chicks, they have to do something with them; some end up as reptile food, some are disposed of in other ways that we'd all rather not think about. I'm going to close the thread because these things always end up in fistfights on the forum and we've had plenty of those lately. This video has been posted numerous times in recent weeks (or similar ones).
