I feel so Mean!

I always feel bad for my girls with such a small outdoor pen, so I try to give them treats that they will love.

But today, I tried to keep them from being bored. I locked them in their coop for a few minutes while I raked up some leaves and threw a pile in their pen. I cut up lots of grass to put in there, put some grit, scratch and a little crumple and spread in around the pen. Then, I sprinkled the whole pen, leaves & grass with mealworms.

Oh, my gosh....they are out there digging & scratching, trying to find the mealworms. It will probably take then quite a while to find them all, but it is so much fun to watch. lol. I am so mean to my girls.

I always feel guilty too for not just letting them go free. But it would be a death sentence.

What you did is so good for them, and keeps them entertained, too. I'm sure they love the chance to "hunt".
