Yep, it's finally happened. I'm the proud mama of 2 of the prettiest balls of fluff I have ever seen! This was my 4th attempt at hatching out shipped Silkie eggs. Out of the 8 I had two early quitters. 6 made it to lockdown. Still have 4 in the bator. Today is day 22, so I haven't given up on them. Pics of the two that hatched yesterday: [IMG] [IMG] THANK YOU SNEAKERS!!!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] A very sincere thank you to those of you warning me of toxins in cedar shavings! I took it all out. I have put DE in the tray and covered it with a cloth, tucking it carefully under the tray. The chicks can in no way get to the DE. Hopefully this is ok for them. Let me know plz if I should not be doing this. I will post pics later.
