With the shell taken off, the membrane is going to dehydrate and the chick will be "saran wrapped" in and die. The only way to possibly save it is to cover the exposed membrane with a wet papertowel and keep the papertowel moistened regularly.
To each his own...but IMO that wasn't a very prudent thing to do.
let us not judge till we know the whole story but from what i can gather thus far yes i agree leave the bator alone. when will people leanr its best to just do what u have to and leave the rest for nature
If I'm reading the signature line correctly, it looks like Pax has chicken eggs put in on the 25th of July, due to hatch on AUGUST 15th (I think the 7/15 is a typo).
In that case, these eggs are just a week into incubation.
Pax, in the future, you should use a piece of cellophane tape, or drip a small amount of candle wax on the crack to reseal it if you hope to have any chance for the egg to finish developing...
