I got a mandarin duck yesterday at a poultry show. I was wondering if any of you have mandarins and what you can tell me. I have done tons of research but I know that you can never know too much. It is a drake and I would love to find him a girl.

You will prob have till spring to find a hen. I have a hen and am looking for a drake. [IMG] She is a very flighty bird and stays in the water 90% of the time, I currently have her in with my muscovy ducks and they just leave each other alone. They do have to have a special nest box to lay in, I feed mine a mixture of gamebird feeds. Congrats on your new addition, they are beautiful birds. [IMG]

The main thing is keep wherever he is covered or he will be GONE!!! They are very flighty and will leave in a moments notice.
